Voodoo Girl

As usual I was browsing on ASOS for things I can't afford, and I've seen this brand a few times with pieces that have really caught my eye on the ASOS site. So I thought I'd take a look at the brand as a whole, not only on ASOS but on their official website too and put together a little 'wishlist' of things that I think are quite unique, versatile, staple pieces, etc. I'm going to link all of the products you can see in the picture below it too :)

(Rushed) OOTD 22.5.2013

Hey guys, I'm waiting on one of my pieces from New Life to dry then I'll be photographing them all and be getting that post up ASAP! Till then, I'm going to share a super quick OOTD post.
Sorry the picture quality is terrible, like I said, it was a very rushed picture taken from my webcam with my laptop being balanced on my hamster cage...

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick Shade 004 Boots £5.49, Vintage Necklace unknown, White Crop Top Topshop £6, Green Leggings Forever 21 £5, Jack Jones Plaid Shirt (boyfriends), Green Parka ASOS £16

I also decided to style my hair very differently from usual, as it was a fairly humid day so didn't want my hair all down my back. To achieve this, I gathered my hair up, separating a few shorter pieces on either side near the front along with my fringe, and tied the rest up in a really high top knot. I then pulled bits of the hair forward so as they would cover my slightly-sticky-out ears, and voila, a really easy, alternative way to put your hair up on days where you just don't have the time to style it down etc.

My general feelings towards college displayed very visually... Here you can also see the shade of the lipstick a lot lot better.

Eveing OOTD

Me and my best friends Amber and Shannon went out to celebrate Shannon's 18th birthday on Saturday night, and made a big deal about getting dressed up for our first night out together.

A picture of the three of us together before we left for the night out, the birthday girl looked fantastic and Amber looked gorgeous as usual.

I am absolutely in love with this outfit and I'm so glad I finally got a chance to wear it out. I was after this dress off ASOS, saved up for it for a couple of weeks, went to buy it and it was out of stock in my size, I was gutted. However, the following week I went to Clothes Show Live in Birmingham and at the Vero Moda stand, there it was. I also managed to get it with a discount, it was supposed to be 18 but I snatched it up for 15! I don't actually know where the necklace was from, it was Amber's. It is a multilayered gun metal silver spike necklace which really complimented the glitter on the dress. I paired the dress with some black frill socks that have a little black bow at the back, bought from Internacionale for about 3, another bargain considering how much the frill socks are in the likes of Topshop and Urban Outfitters. For heels I was torn between my plain black suede wedges and my spike brogue wedges, but opted for the spike brogues in the end which gave the outfit more of an alternative feel with the help of the spike necklace. I'll definitely be trying to get this outfit out of my wardrobe a lot more often as it did turn a few heads over the course of the evening. It was an amazing night and I love my girls to pieces! :)

I'll be posting a mini haul very very soon guys so I'll be keeping you posted on when that goes up. Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine we've been getting lately.

Get to know me!

Thought I'd do a little 'get to know me' post for those of you that read this blog that don't actually know me that well or even at all on a personal basis :)

1. Picture of yourself:

Well, there's the surprise I was on about yesterday guys, I'm no longer ginger! Dyed my hair with 'Mystic Purple' XXL Live dye last weekend, and this is the result, I'm in love.

2. Are you a monogamous person or do you believe in open-ended relationships?
I don't have anything against people that choose to be in open-ended relationships, but being the person I am, I get attached extremely easily and I get jealous extremely easily, if I'm with someone, I want them to be 'mine' as such. I don't think I could hack an open relationship.

3. Have you ever been dumped?
I have, a fair few times to be honest, but things don't work out for a reason and there is going to be someone out there for me, at least I hope.

4. What do you like most about making out?
The intimacy :)

5. Have you ever casually made out with someone who you weren't seriously involved with?
Not that I can remember aha

6. When you kiss someone for the first time, is it usually you who initiates it or the other?
I'd say them, I'm not a very confident person, I don't like approaching or making any kind of first move.

7. What part of a person's body do you find most attractive?
Definitely the eyes! Peoples eyes can make me drool over them, like seriously, or their cheek bones, oooft.
8: Who was the last person you talked to last night before you went to bed?
Ermmmmm, it could have been Liam, but I'm not 100% sure, I have really bad memory...
9: Had sex with someone you knew less than an hour?
No!

10: Had sex with someone you didn’t know their name?
No!

11: What makes your heart flutter and brings a big cheesy smile to your face?
When someone says something really cute and cheesy to me, it takes a lot for me to smile as a fair few people know, so if you can do that I probably have a crush on you or you're just a really funny friend of mine.

12: Would you get involved with someone if they had a child already?
I don't see why not.

13: Has someone who had a crush on you ever confessed to you?
A couple of times yeah

14: Do you tell a lot of people when you have a crush?
I did the last time, and it didn't work out, so now I'm not gonna bother

15: Do you miss your last sweetie?
I don't know what a 'sweetie' is...

16: Last time you slow danced with someone?
I can't even remember :(

17: Have you ever ‘dated’ someone you’ve never met?
I've been on dates with a couple of guys that I haven't met properly before, but always with other people there, and got to know them a bit more first before getting into an actual relationship with them.

18: How can I win your heart?
Be funny, make me smile, understand that I've got some shit going on that I can't open up about, don't betray my trust, take me for who I am.

19: What is your astrological sign?
Virgo :)

20: What were you doing last night at 12 AM?
On Facebook probably

21: Do you cook?
Oh hell no!

22: Have you ever gotten back in touch with an old flame after a time of more than 3 months of no
communication?
Nope.

23: If you’re single right now, do you wish you were in a relationship?
Oh man, if only...

24: Do you prefer to date various people or do you pretty much fall into monogamous relationships quickly?
I pretty much fall into monogamous relationships quickly, that is such a good sum up of my 'love life'.

25: What physical traits do you look for in a potential interest?
Tall, nice hair, nice hair, looks after themselves (like, clean looking and presentable) that's it really, a bit of muscle is always nice too I guess.

26: Name four things that you wish you had:
A bottle of rose, someone to cuddle, a HDMI lead so I can watch the films on my laptop on the TV screen, and a meatfeast pizza with sausage stuffed crust from Pizza Hut.

27: Are you a player?
Not in the slightest.

28: Have you ever kissed 2 people in one day?
Not that I can remember.

29: Are you a tease?
I wouldn't say that I am unless I was doing it on purpose as a joke or in a sexual way.

30: Ever meet anyone you met on Tumblr?
Nope.

31: Have you ever been deeply in love with someone?
Only twice, and got my heart broken both times.

32: Anybody on Tumblr that you’d go on a date with?
Nope.

33: Hugs or Kisses?
Hugs every time.

34: Are you too shy to ask someone out?
Yes!

35: The first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
Their eyes, if I can see them from where I am (

36: Is it cute when a boy/girl calls you babe?
I guess so yeah.

37: . If a sexy person was pursuing you, but you knew he/she was in relationship, would you go for it?
Not again...

38: Do you flirt a lot?
Only with the person I'm interested in.

39: Your last kiss?
Was a peck goodbye, but it was really nice.

40: Have you kissed more than 5 people since the start of 2013?
Nope :)

41: Have you kissed anyone in the past month?
Yup

42: If you could kiss anyone who would it be?
That would be telling really...

43: Do you know who you’ll kiss next?
Probably Amber or Shannon on Saturday night :')

44: Does someone like you currently?
If they do they haven't told me about it.

45: Do you currently have feelings for anyone?
I have lingering feelings for an ex still if that counts.

46: Do you like to be in serious relationships or just flings?
Serious relationships most of the time.

47: Ever made out with just a friend?
A couple of girl mates yeah, never any guy mates.

48: Are you happier single or in a relationship?
Definitely happier in a relationship, I HATE being alone, like genuinely despise it, it gets me down.

OOTD 16.5.2013

Hey guys! Sorry it's been a while since I've posted, had a fair bit of revision and college work to catch up with, it's been a mental few days really. Here's a really rushed post of an outfit I wore out last week to a local rock bar near me. Sorry about the quality by the way. Got some better posts planned for you guys though and a bit of a surprise regarding my own look! (If you have me on Facebook you probably already know this) But it's going to open up a lot more different looks and wardrobe opportunities for me, I'm really excited! :)

In this outfit I'm wearing the same vintage necklace that was in my last OOTD. I still can't remember where I got it from or how much for though.
Next I'm wearing a black and white stripey bodysuit, I suppose you could say it's in the Beetlejuice style that was quite popular a couple of months back. I got this bodysuit from Zoo for about £10, it was a proper bargain!
The skirt is just a plain black beach skirt that my Mum bought me for when we went on holiday a couple of years ago. I love it so so much, I just wish it was a little longer as I have to wear a black bodycon skirt underneath it in case it's windy out to avoid people from seeing my cheeks! I think she bought it fro m Asda for about £3 or £4, really cheap. It's really fitted around the waist as you can probably see, and it also has a few layers of the puffed out skirt section so it isn't actually see through.
Then some of the bondage tights, I got those from the Rag Market in Birmingham for a couple of pounds, again a bargain!
I think I was wearing my Vans high top boots, but you can't see them in any of these photo's anyway.
As far as makeup was concerned, I'm wearing the purple Kate Moss lipstick that she did for Rimmel London, it's one of the best lipstick's I've ever bought and the shade comes out exactly as I wanted it to! I've got a smokey eye going on, and the eye shadow I use is an Avon brand.

Hope you've enjoyed this post, I really love my going out outfits, and I'll hopefully be keeping this a bit more frequently updated now that I've almost got this week out of the way! :)

Shoe Collection (Part 3)

Trainers/Boots

These boots, just, oh my god. I bought them on eBay for about £25 including postage and packing (they were shipped over from China). The minute I saw these I fell in love. I bought these before I bought a 'proper' pair of creepers- but I had to get rid of them over New Year because I had literally worn them to pieces. They are an extremely bold piece that toughens up any outfit, they can be worn with jeans, leggings, dresses, skirts, anything. They have a pointed tip, a platform which curls up slightly at the front of the shoe making them easier to walk in, a 3 inch platform, double eyelets making them a lot more secure around the ankle, and a really quirky addition of a lace up back. I'm not going to lie, they did take some getting used to in terms of walking, but my god they are fantastic and I won't be getting rid of my babies any time soon. I think I'll be pairing them with some maxi dresses/skirts this summer, to add the rocker girl feel, and to give me that added height that I desperately need when it comes to maxi-clothing.

Anyone that knows me knows that there is nothing more I hate when it comes to shoes with white on them that are completely pristine.  These Babycham's have had their fair amount of wear and tear, but I really do think it gives some character to a outfit rather than just having bright white on your feet. It may not be to everyone's taste, some people like clean shoes, others don't. I've had this pair of shoes now for about 4 years, not that you can't tell aha. They can be slipped on and off really easily because of the triple velcro, and have a really cute sewn in logo on the outer side of each shoe.

I bought these sexy mo'f**kers for about £20 second hand at a car boot sale one year when I was on holiday in Cornwall. I wear them to death, and considering I've had them again for about 4 or 5 years, they are still in such good condition. They are 10 eyelet Vans multisex boots in black and white, and are so, so versatile. They can dress down an outfit really well, or add a tomboyish feel when it's a bit warmer out and I feel like wearing a dress or a skirt, but don't want to look too girly. Honestly, there really isn't that much else I can say about them, they are just a fantastic pair of shoes, another pair that won't be leaving me when I move out for Uni.

I saw these on sale in Office a few years back and couldn't resist. Since I bought them though they have been defiled by my friend with a green marker men, and no amount of scrubbing has been able to get the huge mark off, I don't think you can see it in this picture though thankfully, they've been made to look a shambles. Unfortunately these aren't the most comfortable of shoes, and I find myself having to wear them for a couple of days in a row for them to start getting comfy, but by then I've managed to acquire several blisters which just make them impossible anyway.

Another pair of trainers that I bought from the car boot sale in Cornwall, Jackass low riding Converse, for about £15 second hand again. I love these shoes, despite not getting as much wear out of them as my Vans boots. The Jackass logo on the side gives them a little edge, whilst still being versatile with the black and white monotone colouring. I'll definitely be getting these out a lot more this summer, as I think they will look so cute with some frilly socks and a skirt/dress/play suit. Oh, and I also bought some skull laces to put in them, to match with the logo on the side, another little element that can really make your footwear stand out!

My last pair of second hand shoes now, I bought these from COW Vintage a couple of years ago for an absolute bargain of £9! I was chuffed when I managed to find these for such a steal price. Unfortunately though in my haste I didn't think to try them on, just saw that they were a size 4 -I'm a size 3- thought ahh they're only one size up just double-sock when I wear them and it'll be grand. Got home, tried them on, and they were huuuuuge, turns out they are a men's size 4 so like a women's size 5. BUT that being said, aren't they gorgeous for a pair of boys shoes? A nice plaid/checkered shirt print to them in mostly red, lovely light material and as they were bought second hand they already had a real nice distressed look to them. I think I may sell these to be honest due to their size, but we'll see.

My third pair of converse now, as I said, I HATE clean shoes, and I bought these distressed Converse to save me the wear and tear hassle. The original distressed look included some of the scuffs on the front of the shoe, and the teared threading on the rear. Obviously as you can most likely see from the pictures, me and my friends decided that it would be a good idea to write all over them, but I kinda like it like it now, apart from the 'smelly' 'bum' on the front, that could've been done without but hey ho. Like all Converse, they are super versatile and again add that tomboy feel to a more summery, girly outfit.

These Airwalk's are my babies! (I have a lot of shoe babies...) For the life of me I cannot remember where I got them from or for how much. Again, from my 'skater girl' phase, but still a super comfy pair of trainers, easy to slip on and off. There isn't actually a lot else I can say about these bad boys, they are just a really nice pair of shoes.

My last pair of shoes now, I bought these black Rip Curl's from their branch in Truro, Cornwall, can't remember how much for though. I added the purple laces myself back in my 'skater-wannabe' days aha. They are really ruffed up, just the way I like my shoes. For almost a year I paired these with outfits I wanted to style a pair of creepers with, and managed to pull them off due to their thick, chunky style. Probably the most comfortable pair of trainers I own, I wouldn't call them a staple piece exactly but I am definitely glad I have them in my wardrobe!

Shoe Collection (Part 2)

Ankle Boots

I bought these boots from River Island a few years ago for a holiday in place of wearing flip flops- a bizarre replacement shoe I know, but I refuse to wear flip flops or any shoe that shows your toes. I chose these because of the small holes at the top of the boots, thinking that despite the fact they were made of suede, the holes would allow my feet to breath in the hot weather, needless to say I was wrong and only got two wears out of them on my week away. For what they are they were very overpriced, but that being said, I've still got them, so it goes to show that sometimes it is worth spending more money if you want things to last. I may get rid of them though, or they may just end up sitting in my wardrobe when I leave for Uni as I have no intention of taking them with me.

Again, my obsession with shoes comes to light, having the same pair of boots in two different colours, one cream pair and one black pair. But I must say they are truly fabulous, as you can tell I have got so much wear out of the black pair. The lace all along the back and sides of the shoes makes them really light, and the neutral colouring of both pairs makes them so versatile. A definite staple piece for the Autumn time in my books, and I'll definitely be getting a new black pair when summer rolls around this year. I think I got them from Asda, and can't have been more than £15 each.

These beige coloured ankle boots were another pair I bought for a holiday, due to the flip-flop/toe phobia, and unlike the suede boots these were fantastic! The curled over top adds something to the boot, along with the little belt buckle at the top of the lace set. I can't actually remember where I got these from or how much for unfortunately. Another fab pair of shoes that will definitely be seeing the sunlight again this summer!

My last pair of ankle boots now, these were bought for me as a Christmas present from my Mum so again I'm not too sure on the price but I think she said she got them from Select, so they probably wouldn't break the bank. A lot similar to my beige pair, these also have a curled over top that is slightly longer, and the buckle is on the back, though you can't see it on the picture sorry. These are so good for formal events where I don't want to wear 'proper' heels, as they have a very slight heel on the back so still give that clunky sound when you're walking, which I love.

Thanks for reading, hope everyone is enjoying it so far! :)

OOTD 7.5.2013

Hey guys! This is going to be my first Outfit of the Day post, sorry I can't get a full view of the outfit on the decent quality camera, my sister wouldn't help me figure out the timer...
But here's a general break down of a casual outfit that I've worn just to chill out in my garden while the weathers staying hot.

Sorry about the first picture, but I couldn't resist showing you part of my garden's awesome statue collection, the blue frog is so damn cute! This outfit consists of a necklace I've had for absolutely ages, I don't remember when or when I got it from, but it has a unique design to it, and has a beautiful almost heart-shaped pendant with cute little indented design. Next I had to add some sunglasses, I went on the hunt for my psychedelic shades, but to no avail so I ended up with these Barbie-pink oval framed ones. Not something I would wear in public with this particular outfit due to the garish colour but suitable enough for my garden requirements! A pair of black socks and slip on trainers for when I want to grab a drink in and out of the house, there will be more information about my Airwalk's in tomorrows last Shoe Collection post. Now, the play suit. It has an acid wash/tiedye print all over, with pockets on both sides, as well as an elasticated waist to suck you in in all the right places. There are also some really nice buttons, and for the life of me I cannot think of what they are made of aha. Finally topped off with my usually collection of bracelets on my left wrist. This outfit has been perfect for the recent weather, sorry about the quality of the last picture, it had to be taken with my laptop webcam, but hopefully you get the jist of the outfit as a whole.

Thanks for reading, I'll definitely try and get round to doing some more as soon as I can! :)

Shoe Collection (Part 1)

For my first proper post I thought I'd keep it nice and simple by showing you all my current shoe collection as it stands. I am absolutely crazy about my shoes, as anyone who knows me could tell you. My collection mainly consists of heels, 'skater' shoes from by Avril Lavigne-wannabe years, ankle boots, and trainers.

Heels

Before I started going out etc. I didn't really wear heels at all because my Dad said I looked like I was walking as though I'd soiled myself, pleasant right? These were the first pair of heels I bought to wear out on my 16th birthday, and they were amazing. The heel is only about an inch high, but is quite thick so were hella' easy to walk in. They have beautiful tear drop cut outs on both sides of the shoe around the laces, which are themselves a very smooth, silky feeling material. Even though I don't wear these as much anymore, they are still a nice addition to my collection for the more laid back or formal event where 6-inch stilleto's aren't exactly appropriate.

Now these have to be my all time favourite shoes out of my entire collection, they are genuinely stunning, and a bargain too! They were initially £60 on ASOS, but I managed to catch them for £30 in the sale, I was so chuffed! As a small girl, these add so much height whilst at the same time being easy to walk in and extremely comfortable due to their wedge design. They are topped with a triple eyelet for the laces, making them even more secure. Although the floral pattern doesn't really make these heels a very diverse piece, any one-colour ensemble or LBD is really kicked off by these beauties! I don't think these will be leaving my wardrobe any time soon.

These particular heels were a gift from my parents so I'm not exactly sure on the price or where they were bought from, but they are such a quirky piece. With the suede running along the entire shoe, the bordering snake print sticks out even more. They also have quite a low dip down to where they start on your foot, so they allow you to be able to wear them with leggings with a bit of your bare skin still on show, adding length, which I need aha. Again, although I don't wear these heels very often, they are still a really nice piece to have.

These were the second pair of heels that I bought, again the heel wasn't massive on them, but they were a lot thinner than the heel on my first pair so were a little trickier to walk in. I love pairing these with a pair of silver sparkly socks due to the lace pattern on either side of the shoe. Another stunning pair of heels from ASOS, bought for I think about £36. Pretty steep but I have definitely got my wear out of the so far as you can probably tell from the state they are in!

Maybe these look a little familiar... No... of course I didn't buy the exact same pair of shoes in a different pattern... Oh wait, I did. I couldn't help myself though, they were down from £60 to £16 on ASOS. They are just so individual, in all my nights out I have never seen anyone wearing them, again though, not very diverse due to the paint splat pattern. But they shall stay in my wardrobe regardless!

Please excuse the state of these, this post has been long overdue and to be completely honest I couldn't be bothered to scrub them up. A staple piece for any girls shoe collection; black wedge boots. These babies have been all over the Birmingham nightlife with me, and you can definitely tell! They are just the right height and so comfy to walk about in, especially in a drunken state, as well as being very diverse! I bought them from good old Primark for £20.

My last pair of heels now, a take on the black wedge mixed with the brogue design that was in a couple of years ago. They are a stunning pair of wedges, with the spiked studs on both the front and the back giving them a 'rock' feel. I love wearing these on quieter nights out as they still add a bit of height but don't make me look daft. As a black piece, they are very diverse and go with almost any outfit. These were bought for me as a christmas present by my sister from New Look, I'm not sure how much for though.

This will be my first 'Shoe Collection' post of three, so keep tuned for the next two, and thanks for reading! :)
